How to Travel With Food
May 01 2018 - Juettner Motors
As the busy summer season approaches, so do beach vacations and family reunions. A big safety issue that many of us never think about is the transporting of foods to these events. Making sure our delicious packages make it safely and without spoiling should be a top priority. Let's take a look at a few tips for transporting your favorite foods.
- Feeling carnivorous? First, do not try to transport large cooked meats for long distances. You can carve it at home and place all of the meat and drippings into a sealed container or wrapped in plastic wrap, then foil. It can quickly be reheated in an oven at your party.
- Never partially cook a food item at one place and reheat it at the destination. This is a big risk of inviting bacteria and food borne illness to your next family gathering.
- Wrap all containers tightly and consider placing them in a box lined with a towel. This provides you with added protection from spills, in the event that you hit a pothole or cargo shifts around.
Here at Juettner Motors, we hope you and your family make many magical memories during your spring and summer road trips. If you need more space for your adventures, browse our new car inventory to find a spacious SUV or sedan!
